Milestone Session Info

 All of my sessions are done from the comfort of your own home.

Babies really do grow so much in that first year, a milestone session showcases your babies sweet features and allows me to freeze precious moments in time. With brand new milestones around every corner, these sessions are designed to capture your babies first year of life. While many book newborn and one year portrait sessions a lot miss out on the middle part of babies first year and it is often one of the sweetest stages to capture. Sessions can be booked any time between the 3months-1year mark. Sitter sessions, milk baths, first birthday and cake smash portraits are among some of the most popular booked.

Baby/Sitter Sessions

When you schedule your session we’ll go over colour and prop choices as well as any special requests you may have. My sessions are baby led and each baby is different, no two of my sessions are ever the same. I’ll make adjustments whenever necessary to make sure your little one is comfortable and relaxed. Due to this no specific pose can ever be fully guaranteed before your session. However I will always do my best to accommodate what you are looking for, in certain instances some babies strongly dislike specific poses and I will never force it upon them but instead find one they love instead. All are unique.

Cake Smash & Splash Sessions

These sessions include a mini portrait session to begin, cake smash and then splash with your choice of colour scheme, use of outfit and a mini album(6x4) with matching 10 digital images. Your cake is not included with your session, please let me know if you would like any recommendations on cake. Avoid any chocolate flavourings or toppings as this does not photograph well. Same for red colouring and dyes, I do not recommend.

Cake Smashes can be a bit overwhelming for soon to be one year olds! New food, decorations, excited parents. Try to consider your babies sensory needs while planning for your session. I've seen a huge range of sensory preferences while photographing cake smashes. Such as babies getting upset with sticky hands, pushing away cake and not wanting to go near. Then others will dive right in and even smash their own face into it. If you have a baby who prefers not to be sticky, consider putting fruit on top of the cake. Be patient and don't be surprised when your baby suddenly rejects the cake and wants nothing to do with what is happening. We will and can give them some time and find different ways for them to enjoy the experience.

Please do not invite others to watch your session, the more people in the room, the less chances baby will be looking at me and my camera during our time together. Your baby can and will get overwhelmed with too many people there.

I always highly recommend that baby tries cake before our session. The best cake smashes are always those that are well prepared for in advance. The worse tend to happen when its babies first ever time trying cake. Stick them in a high chair and let them go for it with a cupcake to get familiar with texture and taste.
