Pure & Simple - Newborn Mini Session

My newborn mini sessions are designed with smaller budgets in mind, take less time and are great for those who want something more simple than a full newborn session. Parent and sibling images are NOT included, this smaller session is designed for baby only and is all about them.

Baby will be dressed in or wrapped in white on a white background. I may use props or accessories but don’t always as these sessions are completely baby led and less posed. It really doesn’t matter if baby is sleepy or awake during our time together, I take their lead and go with the flow always.

Unlike full newborn sessions these can be done up until baby is 8 weeks old. As babies get older they realise they can and will move out of poses and change positions while unwrapped. The beauty of these sessions is the baby led posing where I let them do their own thing and just capture. I do recommend earlier the better for newborn sessions however these can also be scheduled at a later date if required.

Don’t miss out on capturing them in those early days because of time or budget. My sessions are done from the comfort of your own home. I’m from Hamilton however do sessions all over Lanarkshire.

Newborn Mini Sessions cost £155 and include 5 digital images. Additional images can also be purchased after your session.

All Wrapped Up - Newborn Mini Session

If you hadn’t guessed from the name, baby will be wrapped up nice and cosy for your session. Your choice of colour will be implemented throughout with the use of wraps, props, backdrops and accessories. Let me know if you have anything in particular in mind. Unlike full newborn sessions these can be done up until baby is 8 weeks old. As babies get older they realise they can and will move out of poses and change positions while unwrapped. I do recommend earlier however due to baby being all wrapped up for these means they can also be scheduled at a later date if required.

You see I really want you to have images you can treasure..but not just saved on your phone or computer somewhere. When booking a photo session with me you are not just paying for "a few photos" but a bespoke service that leaves you with lasting moments frozen in time. If all you are looking for is digital images then I’m probably not the photographer for you.

(10x10 album next to 6x4 mini album)

I wanted to take a few moments today to go over the main products I have chosen for each of my three collections available to book for sessions.(Besides limited edition.) The main product stays the same throughout all of my collections however additional prints and products are also included depending on which option you go for. From newborn to sitter sessions, outdoor adventures and more I’ve chosen products that will suit your session type and look great in your home from acrylic panels to boxed canvas. Please contact me for full collection lists for the session type you are looking for, slight variations between each.

Collection one

This collection includes a beautiful 10x10 album with 6 spreads, which can hold up to 20 images. I'm absolutely in love with it! From the durability standpoint to the final design and how it looks. These albums can be completely customised to your liking with many different fabric options including leather, linen and lace in a variety of colours and textures. For my sample album I went for Duck Egg with foiling text on the front. Besides newborn sessions which include canvas, collection one also includes an 8x10 float acrylic panel as well as the 20 matching digitals on USB.

The importance of prints (Part 1)

In this digital age that we live in, it’s even more important than in the past to print the images that we take. This is simply because we just aren’t doing so as a society. They are saved on our phones, backed up to the cloud, posted on social media... but more often than not they can sometimes just end up lost forever. If you want to preserve something, you have to print it!

Your memories shouldn’t have to die when your phone does. Online storage is NOT as safe as its made out to be. Technology is constantly changing. A USB may end up like a floppy disk, Apple already stopped making CD drives. Who really knows if we will have access to all of these stored digital images years from now.

When your grandchildren or great grandchildren go searching for photos, what will they find? A broken USB, a link to an expired online gallery? Or beautiful prints and products that they can hold in their hands and admire? Just remember in years to come when we celebrate the people we love, you can’t frame a thumb drive.

Top 5 reasons to PRINT

  1. While going through your images on a screen can still be fun its nothing like actually holding those prints in your hands. Images when printed invoke so much more emotion and makes your memories that bit more tangible.

  2. There is absolutely no guarantee that the technologies of tomorrow will be able to read the photos we take/store digitally today. Your children and their children will thank you for printing.

  3. Printed photos on display in your home help boost your child’s sense of identity and makes them feel more valued. Seeing them every day are great reminders, where as what do you think they think about when they walk past a USB drive?

  4. Phones can be lost, laptops can be broken, online storage websites can go out of business, USB’s malfunction and gallery links don’t last forever. If you want to preserve it, print it.

    5. The quality of prints has came a long long way. It is now easier than ever before to order online, create albums, order prints and wonderful products to cherish forever. I order all of my prints and products from a dedicated photographic lab for professional photographers to ensure you receive long lasting quality items from me.

Summer Sessions

I just love being able to freeze sweet moments in time for you! My aim with my summer mini sessions is to capture natural moments of your child in the great outdoors giving you something to cherish and look back on for years to come. Options for locations are endless and the best part is your kids can just be kids. No need to worry about having them stay in the same spot or making them smile, being outdoors means we have more room to wander and play while getting some great images at the same time.

What to expect?
Every little one is different so no two sessions are the same but I love to capture authentic moments and natural expressions. This could be your child smelling flowers, blowing dandelions, playing with bubbles or splashing in a puddle but the ultimate goal is for them to have fun and for me to capture them doing so. Included with your session is up to 30 mins coverage within South Lanarkshire, online gallery, 5 digital images and one 8x12 print with the option to purchase extras.

Things to be mindful of
I have a list of locations within South Lanarkshire which I recommend to use. Of course your session can take place elsewhere if you're looking to do it somewhere that has importance to you however I do not recommend the session taking place anywhere that does not have at least some shade as during the summer with the sun high in the sky it can make for unfortunate lighting circumstances depending on the timing of your session.

*Please note if the session is not in South Lanarkshire a travel fee will be added.
